ABOUT
The BBC Ariel Orchestra is the BBC’s amateur staff orchestra, made up of amateur musicians from across the BBC, freelancers, former BBC staff, contractors, partner organisations, students and friends.
Amongst our ranks include radio editors from BBC News, subtitlers, lawyers, engineers, documentary filmmakers, music arrangers, orchestra managers, lawyers, continuity announcers, music producers... the list goes on.
The orchestra meets every month as a “scratch” session at the iconic BBC Maida Vale Studios on Sunday afternoons. Each rehearsal we tackle different repertoire, ranging from Mozart and Tchaikovsky, to world premieres and Hollywood film music.
We are proud to operate a no-auditions policy, and we welcome staff and friends from across the BBC to come and play.
